Beloved Cedarburg Teacher and Coach Kaitlin Wiza Dies After Cancer Battle

Kaitlin Wiza, a beloved teacher and coach in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, has died after a five-year battle with cancer. She was 34.

Wiza was born in Cedarburg and graduated from Cedarburg High School in 2006. She went on to earn a degree in English from Michigan Technological University and a master’s degree in education from Rice University.

Wiza began her teaching career in Door County, Wisconsin, before moving to Burlington. She most recently taught English at Cedarburg High School.

In addition to her teaching career, Wiza was also a passionate volleyball player and coach. She played volleyball at Michigan Tech and Rice University, and she also coached volleyball at the high school level.

Wiza was known for her kind heart and her dedication to her students and her community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service for Wiza will be held on Saturday, August 26, at Cedarburg High School. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kaitlin Wiza Memorial Fund, which will support cancer research and education.
